Largely uninhabited, the fortified village is a model of earthen architecture (crenellated towers and decorated … with diamond-shaped). The walk to the dungeon of the old casbah can enjoy an exceptional panorama, in the foreground, surrounding arid lands, and the background, the silhouette of the Atlas. Casbah Tifoultoute8 km west of Ouarzazate past, this old fortress belonged to the family of Glaoui (pasha of Marrakech). Built on a rocky promontory, it reigns over the valley of the Oued Ouarzazate. Transformed into a hotel restaurant, it gives them the evening performances of traditional dances.
