Morning departure from Ouarzazate by 4×4 to Ait Benhaddou22 km north-west of Ouarzazate the most prominent Kasbah in Morocco. This Kasbah was piled upon a dark shaft of rock above a shallow, reed-strewn river. Its collection of Kasbahs are among the most elaborately decorated … and bestpreserved. Aït Benhaddou has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987 and several movies have been shot in Ait ben haddou such as: Lawrence of Arabia, The Man Who Would Be King, Jesus of Nazareth, Kundun, The Mummy, Gladiator, Alexander and lately Kingdom of Heaven. the ksour Ait Ben Haddou is one of the most beautiful in Morocco. Largely uninhabited, the fortified village is a model of earthen architecture (crenellated towers and decorated with diamond-shaped). The walk to the dungeon of the old kasbah can enjoy an exceptional panorama, in the foreground, surrounding arid lands, and the background, the silhouette of the Atlas. After visiting the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou we will take the way back to Ouarzazate.
